The parallel dollar in Argentina is quoted 15 pesos below its opening value for the year, finishing 2024 at $1230. On Tuesday, the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic purchased $9 million in the Single and Free Exchange Market, totaling $1765 million in net purchases during January. Since Luis Caputo assumed the presidency of the BCRA on December 13, 2023, the positive balance amounts to $24.038 billion, with international reserves reaching $29.427 billion.

According to the latest figures, the blue dollar is offered at $1195 for buying and $1215 for selling. On the other hand, the official dollar is at $1034.50 for buying and $1074.50 for selling at Banco NaciĆ³n. Regarding the card dollar, it has reached $1396.80 after changes in the applied perceptions.

In the Buenos Aires City, the blue dollar maintains quotes of $1195 for buying and $1215 for selling. During the last days, the parallel has recorded a loss of 5 pesos. In the market, the MEP and CCL dollars operate with slight increases, ranging between $1191 and $1202.

In other markets, the wholesale dollar moves between $1032.40 and $1072.40. The informal exchange gap sits at 13.07%. Additionally, the CCL dollar or cable dollar is quoted at $1199.90 for buying and $1202 for selling. As for the MEP dollar or stock dollar, it is offered at $1191 for buying and $1191.60 for selling.

Various financial institutions in Buenos Aires City present their own quotes for the official dollar, with Banco de Galicia and Buenos Aires S.A.U. being one of the most competitive, with buying and selling values of $1006 and $1081, respectively. In the stock market context, the volatility on Wall Street persists due to trade tensions between the United States and China, inviting caution in investments.
